Community

We seek to be good neighbours in the communities in which we develop and operate projects. We are committed to working closely with the community as we develop the proposal, and to make every effort to ensure that we provide you with all the information you need to fully understand the details of the proposed project as the plans progress.

The planning application for Cloghercor Wind Farm has now been submitted to An Bord Pleanála, however we are happy to answer queries from the community in relation to the project. Please contact us if you have specific queries about the project.

Community benefit and investment

We recognise that any wind farm development means there will be change for an area and that this change is experienced mostly by those living in that local area. For this reason, we commit to ensuring that local communities should benefit from having a wind farm in their locality and that opportunities for local community investment in any successful project are also explored.

If the project is approved, the local area will benefit from a Community Benefit Fund of up to €500,000 per year for the first 15 years that the project is operational, including a Near Neighbour Scheme for residents close to the site.

We hope that our conversations with the community can explore the benefits that a project such as this could bring to the area. This would fully take into account the updated Wind Energy Guidelines and the new Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS).

If you would like to discuss the Community Benefit Scheme, please get in touch – we are keen to hear from you.
