Autumn 2019

Ecological studies commence.

Winter 2019

Environmental studies take place to inform the location of a planned meteorological mast (met mast). A met mast informs the suitability of a site for potential wind farm development by measuring wind speed and wind direction.

Spring/Summer 2020

80m met mast installed on the site. Ecological studies continue.

Spring 2021

Community consultation commences.

Summer 2021

Initial design and layout of the wind farm complete. Initial design shared with local community via virtual exhibition room.

Autumn / Winter 2021

Community consultation on initial design continued, with community information webinar held. Feedback from the community taken on board.

Spring 2022

The met mast installed on the site is increased in height from 80m to 100m, in accordance with with planning permission.

Summer 2022

A second design iteration was finalised which represented a reduction in the number and position of the proposed turbines. A virtual and in-person exhibition took place in June 2022. Site ground investigation work ongoing during July/August to better inform the planning application.

Autumn 2022

Based on feedback from the second design iteration consultation and advanced study findings, the finalised wind farm design and layout was displayed at a community consultation event. The feedback from the final consultation event has informed the preparation of the planning application.

Spring 2023

Planning submission to An Bord Pleanála.
