Ecological studies commence.
Winter 2019
Environmental studies take place to inform the location of a planned meteorological mast (met mast). A met mast informs the suitability of a site for potential wind farm development by measuring wind speed and wind direction.
Spring/Summer 2020
80m met mast installed on the site. Ecological studies continue.
Spring 2021
Community consultation commences.
Summer 2021
Initial design and layout of the wind farm complete. Initial design shared with local community via virtual exhibition room.
Autumn / Winter 2021
Community consultation on initial design continued, with community information webinar held. Feedback from the community taken on board.
Spring 2022
The met mast installed on the site is increased in height from 80m to 100m, in accordance with with planning permission.
Summer 2022
A second design iteration was finalised which represented a reduction in the number and position of the proposed turbines. A virtual and in-person exhibition took place in June 2022. Site ground investigation work ongoing during July/August to better inform the planning application.
Autumn 2022
Based on feedback from the second design iteration consultation and advanced study findings, the wind farm design and layout will be finalised, with a final community consultation undertaken before the planning application is prepared.
Winter 2022
Anticipated time of planning submission to An Bord Pleanala.
